Church programs

Campbellsburg Baptist Church has begun their 27th year of Wednesday Evening Student Ministry for students from 1st grade to high school seniors. The ministry begins at 6 p.m. with student supper followed by the program in the sanctuary and small group sessions for elementary aged children (KidzVenture) and 6th grade students and above (Foundations). Fall adult Bible study began Sept. 12 and continues weekly at 9:30 a.m. for a time of fellowship followed by Bible study at 10 a.m. using the book “Encouraging One Another” that are available from the church office (532-6026). Another Bible study called “Disciples of Colloquy” meets at 5 p.m. in the church’s conference room with focus on the “End Times” as written in the Bible books of Ezekiel, Daniel, Matthew and Revelation for discussion about what the Bible teaches about The Rapture, Tribulation and Millennium events.

Civic Organizations

Oddfellows Lodge #1513 meets from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second Saturday of each month followed by the NABVets at 1 p.m.

Eminence Rotary Club meets at noon at Hope Center every Monday.

The New Castle Lions Club meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Monday at Hometown Pizza.

Pleasureville Masonic Lodge No. 410 meets at 7:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month at Lodge Hall, 105 Main St., Pleasureville.

Pleasureville Economic Development Council meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at city hall.

Friends of the Henry County Public Library meets the first Thursday of each month at 3 p.m. at the library. The Friends support and assist the library through fundraising and volunteering. For more information, email libraryfrnds@gmail.com.

The Henry County Historical Society book club meets the first Thursday of each month at 5 p.m. in the Henry County Public Library to discuss works of historical nonfiction and fiction.

Education

The Henry County Board of Education meets 6 p.m. on the third Monday of every month.

Eminence Independent Schools meets at 5:30 p.m. the third or fourth Tuesday of every month at the board office or EdHub.

Government Meetings

Campbellsburg City Council — 7 p.m., third Monday of each month at city hall.

Eminence City Council — 6 p.m., second Monday of each month at Eminence City Hall.

Henry County Fiscal Court — 6 p.m., third Tuesday of each month at the 4-H building at the Henry County Fairgrounds (Meetings preceded by Henry County Economic Development Committee meeting at 4:30 p.m.)

New Castle City Commission — 6 p.m., first Monday of each month at Locker Room.

Pleasureville City Commission — 6 p.m., first Monday of each month at Pleasureville City Hall.

Smithfield City Commission meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of every month at Smithfield Baptist Church.

From Jan. 16 through Dec. 18, 2023, the Henry County Board of Elections will meet at 10 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month in the Office of the Henry County Clerk, unless otherwise posted. The board will email any updates in case of illness, weather or unexpected absence.

Political Groups

The Henry County Republican Party meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the 4-H Building at the Henry County Fairgrounds, 1106 Castle Hwy. Eminence

The Henry County Democratic Party will meet the last Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Henry County Public Library.
