The sight and the sound of a 75-year-old protester’s head hitting the pavement after being shoved by Buffalo law enforcement officials has ignited a social-media firestorm.

“I’m undecided why we would want to signal a petition to make this occur but it surely simply did,” tweeted comedian Jim Gaffigan, who then requested individuals to signal a change.org petition demanding that one of many officers be fired; each have been suspended with out pay, and neither has been criminally charged or formally recognized.

To this point, the petition has gotten greater than 207,0000 signatures.
