For the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks, it all came down to this: Game 7 of the NLCS, with a trip to the World Series on the line.
The D-backs got on the board in the first inning, plating a run on two singles and a fielder’s choice. Then Alec Bohm tied it with a solo shot to lead off the bottom of the second.
In the fourth, Bryson Stott got another postseason RBI, scoring Bohm on a double and giving the Phillies the lead. In the next half-inning, Corbin Carroll tied it with a two-out single, his third hit of the game, which scored Emmanuel Rivera and ended Phillies starter Ranger Suarez‘s night.
In the next at-bat, Carroll stole second, and then Gabriel Moreno hit a single to give the Diamondbacks the lead 3-2.
Carroll tacked on insurance in the seventh, with a sacrifice fly following a single from Geraldo Perdomo and a double from Ketel Marte making it 4-2. The score held from there.
