Man arrested after waiving knife, smashing multiple downtown business windows in Asheville, police say
A man has been arrested after a public disturbance in downtown Asheville, according to Asheville Police Department.Police say on Sept. 27, officers responded to Pritchard Park on Patton Avenue around 8:15 a.m. on reports of a man waving a knife around and making threats to vehicles. According to police, they found Westley Aaron Williams, 31, on scene and took him into custody. Police say after further investigation, they discovered that Williams also smashed multiple business windows in downtown Asheville.Police say Williams was charged with going armed to terrorize the public and five counts of injury to personal property.
