WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WXOW) – The D1 High School Boys and Girls Cross Country meet took place in Wisconsin Rapids Saturday afternoon.

In the D1 meet, Onalaska’s Manny Putz took first individually with a time of 15:05. The Junior took first individually in the meet for the second year in a row and will be chasing a three-peat next year.
“That felt awesome,” Putz said. “That was the best pacing race ever. Running with Aloysius and Grady Lenn, that felt like the greatest race I have ever had before. Having runners right next to you, just kind of helps that race flow. So that felt really really good. I wasn’t in my own thoughts. I was just in the zone and before I knew it, we were at the mile mark, then the 2 mile, then the 3. And then we were just up this hill and I was just running as fast I can and I felt so good. I’m going at it and I felt myself slowly passing him and passing him, and that’s when I knew I had it”
Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) took first overall in the team standings.

In the Girls race, Ella Anschutz from Muskego earned first individually with a time of 18:00.
Sabrina Lenchir of Holmen earned 52 individually with a time of 19:48.
Slinger took first overall in the team standings. Holmen earned 14 overall.
